We will visit the most important national parks in the country and go in search of primates: the world's last mountain gorillas in Bwindi and chimpanzee in Kibale National Park and Kyambura gorge.
In addition, we will go on safari on foot, by boat and by car to observe wildlife in total freedom: lions, elephants, hippos, giraffes... An adventure designed to calmly explore the southwest for 11 days.

Arrival in Entebbe
A Watatu representative will pick you up at Entebbe International Airport. Once we have met, we will head to the accommodation and we will make the presentation of all the adventurers. We will have the afternoon to rest and/or take a walk on Lake Victoria.
En route to Kibale Forest National Park
We start the day with breakfast and set off on our way to Kibale Forest National Park (6—7 hours by car). It is one of the last jewels of the African continent and one of the places in the world with the highest density of apes. Up to 13 species of primates can be found here, including the chimpanzee. During the journey we will leave the city behind and enter the rural landscapes of Uganda. We will arrive at Fort Portal, where we will enjoy a local lunch. On the way to our lodge in Kibale, we will stop in the middle of a tea plantation to take a picture and enjoy a brief explanation by our guide. After arriving at our hotel and resting, we will head to Bigodi, where we will observe the ancestral process of making coffee and learn how to brew a unique local drink: banana beer.
Trekking a Kibale a la recerca de Ximpanzés
Aquest dia serà difícil d’oblidar. Amb els nostres rangers, ens endinsarem al bosc de Kibale per veure els últims ximpanzés salvatges del món. Un cop localitzem una família, els podrem observar durant una hora. Podrem apreciar les seves rutines matinals, els jocs entre mares i cries o les relacions territorials entre mascles. En acabar l’activitat, gaudirem d’un dinar local i gaudirem d'una tarda per descansar al nostre lodge.
En ruta cap a Queen Elisabeth i safari en barca al canal de Kazinga
A primera hora del matí començarem la ruta cap al parc nacional Queen Elisabeth. Pel nostre camí alternatiu anirem deixant enrere les muntanyes de Kibale per endinsar-nos en terres de volcans, cràters i sabana. Un cop arribem al nostre lodge, dinarem i, a la tarda, ens desplaçarem cap al mític canal de Kazinga. Navegarem pel canal albirant nombrosos grups d’hipopòtams i, si tenim sort, podrem veure elefants a la riba.
Safari a Queen Elisabeth i excursió a Kyambura Gorge
A primera hora del matí ens desplaçarem a la zona de Kasenyi per fer un safari i buscar tot tipus d’antílops, elefants i, si tenim sort, lleons. A la tarda, farem una excursió pel famós congost de Kyambura. En aquest bosc tropical buscarem ocells, antílops i rastrejarem les famílies de ximpanzés de la zona. Després ens desplaçarem a l’hotel per descansar i contemplar les vistes de la sabana. Un dia increïble que recordarem durant molt de temps!
A la recerca de lleons trepadors a Ishasha i direcció al parc nacional de Bwindi
Esmorzar a l’allotjament i sortida cap a Ishasha, el sector sud del parc nacional Queen Elisabeth. Anirem a la recerca dels famosos lleons trepadors i d’altres animals de la zona. Dinararem i coneixerem el projecte "Save Wildlife Community". Després continuarem la nostra ruta cap al bosc impenetrable de Bwindi. Just al límit de Bwindi, a Buhoma, hi passarem la nit i ens prepararem pel trekking de l’endemà.
Trekking through the Bwindi Forest
Breakfast and ready to do the trekking that crosses the Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi: “The beat of Bwindi”. This route, used by the local population, connects the villages of Buhoma and Nteko. During the tour we will enter the jungle, passing through waterfalls and mountainous terrain (if you do not want to do this activity, you can go by car with the guide to the accommodation). We will have lunch during the trekking and continue to Nteko, where a car will take us to the next lodge.
Gorilla trekking in Bwindi
The day has come, the moment you have dreamed of all your life. Early in the morning we will explore the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (habitat of almost 600 mountain gorillas, half of the world's population). After an informative chat with the rangers, we will begin the search for the last mountain gorillas on the planet. The walk usually lasts between 3 and 6 hours. Once we locate the family, we will have 1 hour to observe the behavior of these primates. Lunch in the jungle and return, in the afternoon, to the accommodation.
En route to Lake Mburo and safari with giraffes
We say goodbye to Bwindi and head to Lake Mburo (6—7 hours by car). During the tour we will make a stop in Kabale to visit the local market and continue our way to our lodge in Lake Mburo. We will have lunch at the hotel and have the opportunity to rest. In the afternoon we will go on a walking safari and “walk among giants” inside the park (walking safari with giraffes). With 20% wetlands and another 80% savannah, Mburo is home to an incredible biodiversity of fauna: giraffes, zebras, impalas, buffaloes or leopards await us. Later, we will return to the accommodation and toast for a dream day.
Rumb a Entebbe i "Expedició bec d'esclop al llac victòria"
Avui deixem enrere Mburo i les zones rurals d’Uganda en direcció a Entebbe (5–6 h). I és que l’aventura encara no ha acabat. A Entebbe tornarem al nostre hotel i dinarem. A la tarda, acomiadarem aquest viatge increïble amb l’Expedició bec d'esclop". Recorrerem les zones pantanoses del llac Victòria amb canoa tradicional a la recerca del bec d'esclop, segurament l’au més famosa i especial de tot Uganda. La seva envergadura de més d’1 metre i el seu bec enorme l’han fet objectiu de caçadors, però aquí encara té un petit refugi. Més tard tornarem a l’hotel per sopar i descansar.

The Bwindi Forest, in Uganda, is a biodiversity sanctuary with a forest surrounded by fog, creating a magical and mysterious atmosphere. This ancient forest, a World Heritage Site, is home to one of the last populations of endangered mountain gorillas. With towering trees and rich flora, Bwindi is a labyrinth of life where the singing of birds and the whisper of the wind between the leaves form a natural symphony.
Kibale National Park is one of the country's jewels. This biodiversity sanctuary, known as the “Kingdom of the Primates”, is home to a surprising variety of wildlife, including 13 species of primates, although the real protagonists are chimpanzees. You can also hear the songs of more than 375 species of birds, as elephants and antelopes wander among the giant trees of the dense forest.

The Kiambura Gorge, located in Queen Elizabeth National Park, is a hidden haven of biodiversity in the middle of the Ugandan savannah. This deep and leafy valley is home to a wide variety of wildlife, with primates, especially chimpanzees, being its most emblematic inhabitants. In addition, it is an ideal place to listen and observe exotic birds, while small antelopes and baboons roam the paths of the forest. Kiambura offers a unique diving experience in a vibrant and protected natural environment.
Lake Victoria is not only the largest lake in Africa, it is an inland sea that beats with the rhythm of local life and hides corners of absolute serenity.
Lake Mburo National Park is that compact jewel of Uganda where the savannah meets the water and offers a much more intimate and tranquil experience than the larger parks. “Where the whisper of acacias mixes with the chirping of hippos, creating the perfect setting to discover the elegance of zebras under the African sun.”
