Arribada a Moshi
Arribada a l'aeroport internacional del Kilimanjaro. Et rebrem a l'aeroport i et traslladarem a l’allotjament situat a Moshi. El teu guia t’informarà sobre el trekking i farà una comprovació de l'equip per assegurar-te que tens tot l'equip de muntanya necessari. Si te’n falta, el podràs llogar a l’allotjament. Sopar no inclòs però sí l’esmorzar del dia següent.
Moshi - Machame Gate (1.800m) - Machame Camp (3.010m)
The day starts early with an information session, followed by breakfast and a 45-minute drive from Moshi (910m) to the gate of Machame Park. After registering at the door office, you will start the ascent and enter the rainforest. They'll give you a picnic box. There is a chance of rain in the forest, which will transform the path into a very muddy and slippery experience. In the evening, the porters will boil water for drinking and washing and the cook will prepare dinner before retiring to the tent to spend the night. Nighttime temperatures can already drop to freezing point in Machame camp. Distance: 11km Walking time: 6-7 hours Elevation: 1,800m to 3,010m
Machame Camp (3.010m) - Shira Camp 2 (3.850m)
T'aixecaràs d'hora al campament de Machame i, després d'esmorzar, pujaràs una hora més o menys fins al cim del bosc. Posteriorment, baixaràs durant 2 hores amb un desnivell més suau per la zona dels erms. Després d'un petit dinar i descans, continuareu pujant per una cresta rocosa cap a l'altiplà de Shira. En aquest moment, ja podreu veure en direcció est, la Bretxa Occidental amb les seves glaceres impressionants. Estareu a l'oest de Kibo i després d'una breu caminada, arribareu al campament de Shira a 3,850 m. Els porters bulliran aigua per beure i rentar, abans de servir el sopar. La nit en aquest campament exposat serà fins i tot més freda que la nit anterior, amb temperatures que baixaran molt per sota de la congelació. Shira Camp 2 (3.850m) - The Lava Tower (4.600m) - Barranco Camp (3.960m)
La ruta ara es converteix a l'est en un paisatge semidesèrtic i rocós que envolta la Lava Tower, on s'arriba a una altitud de 4,630m després d'unes 5 hores de caminada. El dinar se serveix en una zona designada abans de pujar pel camí de tartera rocosa fins a Lava Tower. Sens dubte, el dia més dur fins ara. Normalment és al voltant d'aquest punt, on per primera vegada, alguns escaladors començaran a sentir símptomes de respiració, irritabilitat i mals de cap. Després de dinar, es torna a baixar gairebé 680m fins a la zona d'acampada del Barranco i després d'arribar als 4,600 m d'altitud a Lava Tower, es fa evident el veritable benefici d'aclimatació d'aquest dia. Aquest descens al campament de Barranco dura unes 2 hores i ofereix grans oportunitats per fer unes boniques fotografies de la Bretxa Occidental i la Muralla de Bretxa. El campament està situat en una vall sota la Bretxa i la Gran Muralla del Barranc, que us oferirà una posta de sol memorable mentre espereu la preparació del vostre sopar i la nit al Barranco Camp. Barranco Camp (3.960m) - Karanga Camp (3.995m) - Ice Camp (4.673m)
Start your day early with a wake-up call and have a nutritious breakfast to get ready for the day's hike. The hike may involve the ascent to the famous Barranco Wall, a coastal but stimulating stretch of the route. After conquering the Barranco Wall, you will descend into the beautiful Karanga Valley, a picturesque area with lush vegetation and stunning landscapes. Arrive at the Karanga campsite, upon arrival, our chef will prepare your lunch. After lunch, you will start the hike to the Barafu campsite. The trail may include a mix of terrain, including rocky stretches and gradual slopes. You will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and the stunning beauty of the Kilimanjaro high ground. As you climb towards the Barafu campsite, you will follow the acclimatization process at increasing height. Take the time and listen to your body to avoid problems related to altitude. Upon arrival at the Barafu campsite, our dedicated porters will take care of all the formalities, such as setting up tents, while our chef prepares your dinner. In the evening, after dinner, your experienced guide will conduct a briefing on the summit, providing essential information about the upcoming summit attempt. The guide will discuss the route, the challenges, the safety measures and the necessary preparations. After dinner, try to rest as much as possible, as you will begin the ascent to the top in the late evening. Distance: 11km Walking time: 7-8 hours Elevation: 3,960m to 4,673m
Ice Camp (4.673m) - Cim Uhuru (5.895m) - Mkewa Camp (3.100m)
Around midnight, you will head northwest through the southeast valley towards Stella Point on the crater rim. The 6-hour walk to Stella Point is a mental and physical challenge. You will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise during a short break. During the next hour of ascent to Uhuru Peak you are likely to find snow all the way. Finally you will reach the Uhuru Peak, the highest point of Mount Kilimanjaro and the entire African continent. After the celebrations you will start the descent to the Mweka Camp, stopping in Barafu for lunch and rest very briefly. The return to the Mweka camp from the summit can take more than 7 hours. We strongly recommend trekking poles for loose gravel and volcano ash terrains. Distance: 13km Walking time: 12 hours Elevation: 4.673m to 5.895m to 3.100m
Mkewa Camp (3.100m) - Mkewa Gate (1.640m) - Sortida cap a Moshi
Després d'esmorzar i d'una cerimònia d'agraïment i unió d’equip, és hora d'acomiadar-vos. Continuem el descens fins a la porta del parc Mweka per rebre els vostres certificats. It is famous for its snowy summit, something rare on a mountain so close to the equator. Kilimanjaro has several ecosystems, from jungles at the base to arctic landscapes at the top. Although it does not require technical skills to climb it, it is challenging due to its altitude and changing conditions. It is a popular destination for both adventurers and nature lovers.
Springlands Hotel is in Moshi and is ideal as a base for trekking to Kilimanjaro, which is only 43 km away. This 3-star hotel offers a bar and air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and a private bathroom. The accommodation has a 24-hour front desk and luggage can be left behind. The accommodation has several extra services such as restaurant and swimming pool.
