Arriving in Tanzania
Pick up at Kilimanjaro Airport by a Watatu Travel representative (between 7 and 9 in the morning) and transfer to the accommodation (1h 30 approx). At noon, we will have lunch in a local community where moms will cook us traditional food such as pilau rice, various types of soup, fresh vegetables, assorted fruits and also grilled meat. In this way we have direct contact with the local people and thus we get to know the rest of the group.
En ruta cap al Parc Nacional de Tarangire
Esmorzarem a l'allotjament d'Arusha i començarem la ruta cap al Parc Nacional de Tarangire, un parc on alberga les manades d'elefants més grans del país, té un paisatge molt variat i trobem rius d’aigua dolça perenne que atreuen aquests animals sobretot en temporada seca. Farem safari durant el dia i passarem la nit al llindar de la frontera amb el parc nacional.
En route to the Serengeti via Klein's Gate and afternoon safari
A 5h route to the Serengeti National Park through Nabi Gate, the main entrance to the park. Picnic lunch before entering the park and afternoon safari en route to the accommodation located in the center of the Serengeti.
Full day safari in the Serengeti
Today we will dedicate the whole day to the “Best Safari in the World”. During the day, we will discover the great variety of birds, reptiles and mammals that inhabit the park: nyus, zebras and different species of antelope. With the help of our guides, we will learn how to track the most famous cats on the planet - lions, cheetahs and leopards. An incredible day that we will divide into two outings: one from 6 to 12 in the morning and another from 4 to 6 in the afternoon, the hours in which the animals are most active. Between both departures, we will rest and dine at the hostel.
Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Early in the morning, we will start a safari en route to the south of the Serengeti. Along the way we will cross stunning landscapes and we will have more opportunities to observe the fauna in its natural habitat. At noon (12:00-13:00 h), we will descend to 600 meters deep inside the Ngorongoro Crater, a unique ecosystem, considered one of the best wildlife reserves in the world. Although it seems impossible, this is where you can see the big 5. Afterwards, we will leave the Conservation Area and spend the night in our lodge, surrounded by a spectacular environment.
Plantacions a Mto Wa Mbu i trasllat a l'aeroport
Després d’uns dies molt intensos, avui començarem la jornada d’una manera més tranquil·la. Esmorzarem amb calma al nostre lodge i al migdia farem l’activitat “Terra d’agricultors”. A Mto Wa Mbu tindrem l’oportunitat de conèixer les plantacions de plàtan de la zona. Tastarem la gastronomia de la regió i entendrem la importància d’aquest cultiu per als camperols i per a l’economia local. I encara que costi de creure, l’aventura arriba al seu final. Farem el trasllat cap a l’aeroport.
The Serengeti National Park is one of the largest and most important parks in Africa, with an area of approximately 30,000 km2. It has a wide variety of ecosystems, from endless plains to hills and scattered forests, which makes it a very diverse habitat to host a lot of wildlife. It is famous for being the scene of the great annual migration, where millions of nyus and zebras roam the Serengeti in search of fresh pastures and rains.
This ancient volcanic crater is home to a large concentration of wildlife, including lions, elephants, rhinos and giraffes, as well as a spectacular landscape of meadows, lakes and forests. Without a doubt, one of the essentials to visit while making a safari in Tanzania.
Tarangire is one of the most important National Parks in northern Tanzania, known for its large elephant population and diverse fauna. The park is characterized by its centuries-old baobabs, seasonal swamps and the Tarangire River, which attracts a wide variety of animals during the dry season as it is of perennial water (there is always water).
Locally owned and family run accommodation located in the heart of Arusha. It was the first B&B in the city and is an excellent accommodation to rest with gardens to stroll through.
This classic, eco-friendly tent camp is located in the heart of the Serengeti and offers some of the best panoramic views in the park. Each tent is fully equipped with African decorations and styles.
Located on the outskirts of the city of Karatu. Simplicity and service are the hallmark of rural accommodations set in beautiful tree-lined gardens surrounding the beautiful swimming pool.
Kirurumo is located in one of the most strategic places next to Tarangire National Park, with incredible views of the surrounding savannah. It is tented country style and has comfortable common areas, as well as many animals such as elephants that roam freely around the surroundings
