We are here to save you time and money by planning the trip you want partnering with small 100% locally owned businesses to maximize a positive impact. Treat yourself and enjoy some of the wildest nature on our planet
Our mission is to use our years of experience in the area to help build the most suitable journey for you
How it works
1. We listen to you
It all begins with an idea. It might be of a safari in the wild savannah, perhaps a trekking to the peak of Africa, or a relaxed vacation in the islands of the Indian ocean. Explain to us what you have in mind.
2. You relax
We send to you a customized proposal based on your wishes and ideas. We are always available for you on email, whatsapp, and video calls. The whole proposal is modified until is perfect for you.
3. Go travel!
Once the itinerary satisfies all your desires, you are ready to confirm your trip! Inform Watatu Travel and we will reserve it for you. One of our representatives will be waiting for you at the destination.

What we believe in
Custom made
Since we are all different in our own way, doing what everybody does is not exciting any more. At Watatu Travel we believe that everyone should be properly informed about the options in each destination in order to build the most suitable trip.
Social responsibility
Ready made holiday packages in bulk do not split widely the positive wealth that tourism generates. This is a complex problem with complex solutions. At Watatu Travel we believe in working with small 100% locally owned businesses to maximize a positive impact.
Authenticity
We should all stop and think; in this globalized world that everything is made to content us, what is authenticity? At Watatu Travel we believe that there are genuine people and purpose-driven companies that make all the difference, so we partner with those.
Safety
Since our passion is to explore remote wildlife, we ensure to be surrounded by the most mature and knowledgeable guides. Also, to help you through this time of uncertainty, we offer you a full-refund guarantee, should you need to change your plans prior departure.
FAQs
Can I cancel due to Covid 19?
YES! We offer you a full refund guarentee should you need to change your plans due to coronavirus up to two weeks before the starting date of the trip.
Is it safe to travel around Africa?
Like elsewhere, use comune sense. Cities are busier and therefore more theft. Remote wild areas are absolutely safe, in fact, people are extremely hospitable.
What’s the best time to travel?
East and Southern Africa are always good to visit. The long rainy seasons are between March to May and a shorter season happens around November.
Is there any support during the trip?
A Watatu Travel representative will welcome you at your airport of arrival. During your trip in the wilderness, there will always be a Watatu Travel guide with you.
Are flights and insurance included?
International flights are not included. As for insurance, we can offer a basic one if requested but we strongly recommend that you acquire your own, especially one that includes Covid-19 coverage.
Do I need any vaccination?
Speak with your tropical medicine doctor before the trip. However, yellow fever is the only vaccine required in most of the Sub-Saharan African countries.
